Make the "stained area" uninviting and
unavailable to your pet. Then use positive reinforcement techniques to show him
the appropriate place to relieve himself. The re-training period may take a
week or more. Remember, it took him time to build the bad habit, and it will
take time to replace that habit with a new behavior. So treat your pet with
patience and encourage him!
